Explaining Technical Stuff to Non-Technical People
Do you ever get the blank stares when you’re talking to your client about what you need from them? Do you constantly get pushback about Scope Creep, Requirements or Discovery or why it costs so much for a website project?
This series of talks will focus on Speaking to the Client in their language or creating analogies & metaphors they can understand and see the value behind. We’ll also have a ‘workshop’ portion where we’ll roleplay some client interaction and test your ‘speaking client’ abilities.
This first session will focus on:
- The Project Lifecycle [Discovery, Planning, Design, Development and Review]
- Discovery/Requirements Gathering (and why you should charge for it)
- Project Scope and Scope Creep (and why it costs the client for changing their scope)
