A little late setting up my ofrenda this year, but Mom would appreciate my procrastination and be just fine with sharing a simple dinner with her tonight. Added two more pups this year: Uno’s best buddy, Ozzie bear, and his girlfriend who’s been his steady buddy since we moved to Lakeland, Buttee. Buttee and Mio both sent their owner Bert a new little pup, Lili, and Ozzie arranged a new little sister for his brother, Ollie, so I really do believe the pet continuum provides. Celebrating & honoring Dia de Muertos has completely transformed my relationship with grief. Yes, it can still consume and sneak up on me, but now I recognize it for the love it represents and the memories interwoven with that love. Keeping their memory alive and honoring it keeps me connected to them and that’s good. #diademuertos #dayofthedead #ofrendas #griefawareness

His favorite space is facing away from me, sitting with his butt on my feet, between my legs or pushed up against my lap, looking at the world. Early Voting accomplished! Civic duty and doing my part for the eventual United Federation of Planets and that StarFleet ideal we strive for. In other news, I’ve been driving my Kia Soul EV for three months and I absolutely love it. Handles amazing on the road and gets 4 miles per kwh averaging about 125 miles a “tankful”.
