Two deltas with imaginary line drawn between them will cut recurve of the inner pattern area.

Central Pocket Loop Whorl Rules - C

Double Loop Whorl - d

Accidental Loop - X

Tracing Whorl Rules

Count Loops and Trace Whorls. Have to know the amount of lines from one delta to the other.

Trace from left delta to a point opposite the right delta.
Trace from the farthest left to the farthest right delta.
Drop down at ending ridges and follow lower fork of a bifurcation.

3 or more ridges inside the right delta- INNER
3 or more ridges outside the right delta - OUTER
1 or 2 ridges or stops at right delta - MEETING

When 3 you reference to an M.

DO NOT COUNT DELTA OR TRACING RIDGE.

Accidental or Double Loop Whorl Tracing (accidentals only extreme outer deltas are considered).

Tracing goes upward above the right delta, stop the tracing when it passes inside the right delta when it begins the upward trend. Almost always an INNER tracing.

No upward trend, follow the tracing to a point opposite the right delta or the delta itself.
