This local company was just starting their business and needed a complete branding package for their freshly made completely natural sofrito sauce. They wanted their product to highlight the fresh vegetables and ingredients they used in the sofrito and also to honor their grandmother who passed down the family recipe. Using photographs of Lila, I created a wood cut illustration of her photo incorporating the image into the packaging and creating another wood cut illustration from stock photography of vegetables. I rounded out the branding with a simple woodcut inspired type based logo that tied together the brand colors and would work well on dark or light backgrounds.
The final package design needed to be in both English and Spanish to accommodate the Spanish markets. We deliberately went with a label in a natural kraft brown and would look good with the colors that would be printed over it. I also did a simple piece of food photography for use on the Facebook page, banners for their market tent and business cards that would evoke the simple fresh ingredients.
