The Hundred Secret Senses

Another compelling and humorous novel by Amy Tan, documenting the stories of two terribly mismatched sisters, a generation of ancestors and "yin" people, and the stories that bring them two of them closer than they ever thought possible.

I've been going back and reading the Amy Tan books that I hadn't read yet. This is one I'm currently working my way through.

While it isn't as good as The Joy Luck Club or The BoneSetter's Daughter, it's definitely growing on me. I like, as always, the way Tan manages to build this beautiful and unusual tapestry of a family and it's modern day foibles, while always tying everything generationally to a past life or ancestor back in China.

I'm only half-way through this book, but I'll probably keep adding on additional notes as I go along.
